Eric Castillo
Eric Castillo graduated magna cum laude in 2000 from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government. While studying there, he was inducted into the Georgetown chapter of The Phi Beta Kappa Society in light of his scholarly achievements. In 2003, Eric earned his Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Eric has been a litigation attorney in Florida since he was admitted to the state Bar in 2003. He began his legal career as an assistant state attorney at the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, where he successfully prosecuted countless cases at the misdemeanor and felony levels. These cases involved juvenile and adult defendants who were charged with criminal offenses, such as simple assaults/batteries, burglaries, robberies, sexual crimes and homicides.
In addition to actively prosecuting cases as a member of the State Attorney’s Office, Eric worked as a supervising attorney from 2006 through 2009 and was responsible for developing, implementing, and presenting training curricula for first-year prosecutors. Moreover, he directly managed the prosecution and trials of all cases assigned to the unit he supervised. Lastly, as a prosecutor Eric participated in various community activities aimed at raising awareness of violent crimes and promoting victims’ rights, as well as improving the investigation and prosecution of crimes.
Eric was a senior associate at the law firm of Alvarez, Carbonell, Feltman, Jimenez & Gomez, P.L., in Coral Gables, from 2010 through 2011. While at ACFJG, he practiced primarily in the areas of first-party insurance litigation involving commercial and residential properties, as well as criminal defense.
A founding member of the Law of Offices of Pimentel & Castillo, Eric is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in all circuit courts throughout the state. Additionally, Eric is admitted to federal practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District.
